FAA Licensed Commercial Drone Photography and Videography

Aerial / Drone

Licensed to fly the camera.

FAA Part 107 Certified. Insured. And we know which airspace you actually need a waiver for.

The importance of hiring an FAA-licensed commercial drone pilot, photographer and filmmaker goes way beyond just “cool aerial shots.”

When you’re telling a story through video—especially professionally—it’s all about perspective. And drones give you the ability to literally elevate that perspective. You can capture the scope of a story: the expanse of a landscape, the energy of a location, the movement of a moment. It’s cinematic. It’s emotional. It gives the viewer a sense of space and feeling that ground-level footage just can’t always reach.

But here’s the thing—a licensed commercial drone operator isn’t just someone with a flying camera. They’re someone who understands the laws, the safety protocols, the airspace restrictions. They’ve taken the time to do it right. And that matters.

It means you don’t have to worry about legal headaches, liability issues, or potentially dangerous mistakes. It means your production is protected—and more importantly, your clients are protected. It’s peace of mind, and that’s priceless in this industry.

Plus, licensed drone operators usually bring a deeper level of craft to the table. They know how to fly with intention, how to frame a shot in motion, how to use that aerial view to say something—not just to show off.

So yeah, a licensed commercial drone service is about more than gear. It’s about trust, professionalism, and unlocking the kind of visual storytelling that makes people stop and feel something. And that’s what great video is all about.

Questions you probably have

Can you fly near RDU / downtown / a stadium?

Often yes, with LAANC authorization that we handle. Some controlled airspace requires a few days lead time — let us know your location early.

What if it’s windy?

We won’t fly above safe limits (≈25 mph sustained). If weather scrubs a shoot we’ll reschedule, no fee.

Just aerial, or paired with ground?

Both. Most clients bundle aerial with documentary video or photography for one cohesive deliverable.

What does this cost?

Aerial-only shoots typically start around TODO_FLOOR. Bundled into a larger project, the marginal cost is much lower.

Let’s get a wider view.
